What are Journals for?
The following are excerpts from the journals I have written periodically throughout the year to keep track of progress made in my Applied Learning Project.
Journal Entry #1: Getting Started
"The first hour of the lesson I went onto a flight simulator and used a VR headset to learn about the basic instruments on the airplane. I learned the six main instruments on the plane, also known as the “six pack.” We then went outside to prep the plane for flight. I checked the fuel levels on each wing and tested the controls of the airplane to make sure they were in working order. My flight instructor did the takeoff and landing while I did most of the flying. The clouds were low that day so we stayed around 2000 feet. We traveled over to Gillette Stadium, Flint Farm, the Xfinity Center, and my house. The flight was a lot of fun and definitely woke me up."
Journal Entry #2: First 8 Hours
"I have decided to take a different path with my Applied Learning Project and plan on going into home improvement. I have logged more hours of fieldwork by planning these projects and the amount of money it would cost to complete these projects. Currently, I am in the process of removing my attic stairs and installing new ones."
